Awarding of credit points in courses at the Language Center
(valid from winter semester 2024/ 2025)

1. The acquisition of credit points is possible at all levels or course sections if:

• curricular anchoring of the language courses in study documents or in the Learning Agreement

• course attendance of at least 75 percent

• successful performance assessment (examinations, coursework).

2. The Language Center confirms credit points on the certificate of study achievement in the amount of:

• 10 CP for a language course with 8-10 SWS [1]
• 15 CP for a language course with 12 SWS [2]
• 2 CP for a language course with 2 SWS [3]
•  5 CP for a course section with 4 SWS [4]
• Lateral entrants receive credit points equivalent to the entire level after successfully passing the level test.

3. The final recognition of credit points - which may differ according to valid study documents - is carried out by

• the examination offices of the faculties or
• the International Office.

The language certificate or the certificate of study achievement must be submitted there.
