Who is the test for?
The placement test will only take place in person. From level A2 on, it is compulsory for those students of the first part of a course:
- who have not previously attended a course at our Language Centre
- who have not successfully completed the second course module of the preceding course
Important information: Existing online test results before the summer semester of 2024 are no longer valid!
How do I prepare (for the placement test?)
- Registration on Moodle.
- Read the following information: What is a C-Test?
- Watch preparation video.
- Take the sample test.

What and where will be tested? Winter semester 2024/25 dates
Date 1: Wednesday 2nd October 2024, 10 - 12 am, University Computing Centre (building 26.1-010)
Date 2: Tuesday 8th October 2024, 1-3 pm, University Computing Centre (building 26.1-010)
Date 3: Thursday 10th October 2024, 1-3 pm, University Computing Centre (building 26.1-010)
Date 4: Wednesday, 16.10.2024, 15-17 Uhr, Rechenzentrum (RTL 3+4, Geb. 26.1006 /1007)
Date 5: Friday, 25.10.2024, 14-15 Uhr, Rechenzentrum (RTL 3+4, Geb. 26.1006 /1007)
Please note:
- Bring your student ID or enrolment certificate with you.
- Have your OVGU account (user name and password) ready.
- You may not take the placement test without preparation.
- The test takes about 45 minutes.
- It is not necessary to register for the test.
- Last admission ist 45 minutes before the end of the appointment.
- Please allow for waiting times.
