Language Proficiency Tests for outgoing students

• The Language Proficiency Test (LPT) is a document that you might need when you apply to the International Office in order to study or do an internship abroad.
• It states your current level of skill in the required language, but it is nonetheless not a substitute for an official language certificiate awarded for successfully passing an exam.

You can apply to do a Language Proficiecy Test if:

• You are a matriculated student of the OVGU.
• You are applying to the International Office of the OVGU to study or do an internship abroad, for which a Language Proficiecy Test is required.
• You have not previously received a language certificate successfully passing an exam in the required language at the Language Centre.
• You have paid the required €15 fee.

• If you are currently attending a course in the required language at the Language Centre (with the exception of Refresher and Conversation courses), you do not need to pay a fee. Instead, contact your course supervisor directly. 
• If you already have a language certificate from the Language Centre, and it is not more than two years old, then you do not need an additional Langague Proficiecy Test. In this case, contact the International Office. 
• If you are applying to an external insititution for your trip abroad (for example, DAAD, bvmd, IAESTE) then they almost certainly have their own form or certificate, which you should bring with you to the Language Proficiency Test for the examiner to complete.
